The datasheet relevant to Indian arm reach dimension in squatting posture at lower most, middle and upper most position i.e. , heights from floor and length from vertical axis at the heel points are presented here in followed by the key mentioned below.

The source reference :- Chakrabarti, D.,1997: Indian Anthropometric Dimensions for Ergonomic design Practice, NID, Ahmedabad, India

Key to follow the datasheet.

The below key structure showing landmarks, definitions and data table structure is used in all the data sheets incorporated in this presentation under different experiment heads.

The compiled data (with relevant descriptions of anthropometric terminology and illustrative descriptions with the respective measurement landmarks) are presented herewith as INDIAN ANTHROPOMETRIC DIMENSIONS separately for Males, Females and Combined (males and females both considering a single study

Squatting posture

Subject sits erect and stretched (except in normal slouched squatting position) on heels in a low
position with legs drawn up closely in front of the body, weight equally distributed on both the
feet, arms rested on the knees and looking straight ahead.

Heights

240.
Normal squatting height
Maximum vertical distance from the floor to the top of the head, while sitting comfortably in
squatting posture.
241.
Erect squatting height
Maximum vertical distance from the floor to the top of the head, squatting in erect stretched
posture.
242.
Mid shoulder height
Maximum vertical distance from the floor to the top of the mid shoulder.
243.
Right knee height
Maximum vertical distance from the floor to the upper most surface of the right knee.

244.
Left knee height
Maximum vertical distance from the floor to the upper most surface of the left knee.
245.
Crotch height
Maximum vertical distance from the floor to the crotch, i.e. the lowermost point of the trunk between the legs.

Breadths

246.
Elbow to elbow distance, relaxed
Maximum horizontal distance across the lateral surfaces of the elbows.
247.
Knee to knee distance, relaxed
Maximum horizontal distance across the lateral surfaces of the knees in relaxed squatting posture.
248.
Heel to heel distance
Maximum horizontal distance across the lateral surface of the heels.

Depths
250.
Buttock to knee length
Maximum horizontal distance from the rearmost point of the uncompressed buttocks to the most anterior point on the knee.
251.
Buttock to foot distance
Maximum horizontal distance from the rearmost point of the uncompressed buttocks to the foremost point of the foot.
